Technical Writer

Technical Writer

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create and maintain the information architecture

Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Architecture or Software Development, with a Masters being an advantage
  • Proven success demonstrated through prior working experience in technical writing of software documentation
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with written skills in English a key focus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation, where attention to detail is key
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and self motivate to ensure all work is completed on time and to a high standard
  • Be a team player
  • Some experience with Confluence
  • Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development

Requirements

  • The role is only open to candidates who are either based in Ireland or are willing to relocate, and who already have permission to do so, in accordance with the following point.
  • Currently, we can only seek applications from those who are current EEA and UK citizens due to work permit restrictions.  Should that situation change we will update the job description accordingly.
  • The successful candidate must be available to attend team meetups in Dublin for 3 days a quarter.


Our working model is remote in Ireland with 3 days/quarter of team meetings in Dublin to do sprint review, planning and overall collaboration work. Travel to Dublin and related expenses paid by the company.
