AWS Inventory

Integrate with AWS for API discovery and event logging.

Integrate
AWS Inventory

The AWS API Inventory integration enables FireTail to automatically scan and discover your API resources on AWS. This ensures that all APIs in your cloud environment are tracked and visible within the FireTail platform.

The integration improves visibility, supports security compliance, and helps manage API security risks by regularly scanning for new or updated APIs.

Key benefits:

  • Automatically discover and monitor all AWS-hosted APIs within FireTail.
  • Maintain visibility and control over your cloud-based API resources.
  • Regular scans ensure your inventory stays updated, supporting proactive security measures.

The AWS API Inventory integration uses AWS IAM roles and CloudFormation templates to grant FireTail the necessary permissions to scan your AWS environment for API resources.

FireTail retrieves the API metadata and populates it into your selected FireTail application. The integration allows you to configure the regions you want to scan, set a frequency for regular updates, and filter by tags to limit the scan to specific environments (e.g., production).

This ensures FireTail has current information on your AWS APIs, which you can use for logging, monitoring, and security analysis.

To set up the AWS API Inventory integration, you’ll need:

  • Access to your AWS account with permissions to create CloudFormation stacks and IAM roles.
  • The necessary IAM Role for FireTail to scan your AWS API resources.Once the CloudFormation template is launched and the IAM role is set, you can configure the integration within FireTail.
  • Specify the AWS regions to scan, the scan frequency, and any filters based on resource tags.
